This Illustration Friday submission is an ink sketch (with a blue wash) I did a while ago as a base concept for a full scale painting that never happened. I was looking through a book of victorian photos and was struck by the very formal poses. Being the sci-fi geek that I am, I thought it incredibly amusing to put a bizarre creature in that pose. I thought it fitting for this week's topic of blue not only for the wash color, but the expression on "her" face. I can imagine her as part of a tragic trashy historical romance novel - the sad heroine forced to marry against her will...maybe I should write book.

Interesting character...I like the blue you chose, the pale shadows of the chair...nice.
