America - Love It and Leave It

Friday night Dave and I attended another great blowout party held by the incomparable (end at evening's end, incomprehensible) Jen. While mainly an excuse to dress weird and party, it was supposed to be a going away party for:
  • Dave (leaving, perhaps, for a sabbatical in England)
  • Anne (going to Namibia for some sciency animal research type stuff)
  • Marijke & Andrew (returning home to Australia)
  • Gianluca (returning home to Italy
Always the shy one, I decided to join Jen and Shannon as cheerleaders. Then I had a stroke of genius and with the addition of a cushion I instantly became Pregnant Cheerleader. How much more American can you get? And it had a nice Oscar tie-in (hello, Juno). The bonus of being (pretend) pregnant at a party? People clear a path for you to the kitchen, let you cut in line for the bathroom, and you can cover up a beer spillage by claiming your water broke. On the down side, everyone wants to touch your belly and it's hard to do a good cheer.

I didn't get the best pics (as I was busy putting my pretend child in fictional jeapardy by imbibing in authentically hazardous beverages), but they are yours to enjoy here...

Is that a gun barrel aiming at said tummy on the left side of the photo?!

Oh, at second look I see it seems to be aiming higher....

Yes - it's a barrel. Aiming at my beer. Brenna has some better pics. Sorry you missed the party.
