Galen and I have been arguing over the artistic merits of the new Leo Charette photo I brought into the office. The title is "Podcast" and shows an extreme closeup of peas in what looks like the tip of a corkscrew. The pod is seen lightly in the background. When I spoke with the photographer, he said it was a playful piece that married his favorite subject matter (innovative images of everyday objects found in his home) with his interest in technology. Galen wanted a more literal translation...a peapod (pod) and a fishing rod (cast). He indicated that the artist was "wrong" in this case. Pshah. Programmers, so annoyingly devoid of the ravages of imagination.
The discussion led to this sketch, based on his extreme literal interpretation. I thought it kind of fit (sorta) into this month's illo friday topic of trick or treat - I mean, getting this in your bag of goodies would definitely be a nasty trick!

Chuckle... maybe I should have stuck with my other name possibility.. "two peas and a pod"... nah! not creative enough ;o)
Fun stumbling upon this blog entry. Thanks so much for your interest in my work.
Cheers,
